HumanX AI Confernece Hot Takes
When Colin Kapernick has an AI startup
* * *
Sky-high production value. Total splash out. The contrast with FinTech Meetup down the strip couldn't have been more stark: plastic badges vs. champagne-adorned showgirls, capped off by a surprise appearance from Wyclef.
(Same folks behind Money 20/20--or as the Vegas cabbies call it, the "Money Money" conference. They know how to stage a spectacle.)

Like much of this AI cycle, the conference is still finding its footing. High gloss, big promises, and a wide-eyed crowd that felt a little lost of where to turn.
I went in search of the unlock to 10x productivity on my finance team. Came away with a lot of great conversations, though plenty of reinforcement of what I already suspected--and the sense that no one quite has the unlock yet. Or if they do, they're not sharing.
Someone from a well-known SaaS company put it best:
"Is it cool or useful?"
Could have been the tagline for the whole thing.
But I will say this: people are barking up the right tree. A lot of experimentation underway. But, these AI foudners need to be getting brutal design partner feedback on what is working and what isn't. ("Chatting with my data" isn't quite it)
Where I'm turning now: knowledge graphs. That stuck with me from the conference.
There's something here--scaffolding to memorialize tribal knowledge and business processes. Feels like the infrastructure under whatever gets built next.
If you've built a knowledge graph for business processes, I want to hear about it.
